Hi Elpida!
My name's José Santos and like you, I'm a master student at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). I got in 2019 my first master's degree at ETSAB in Advanced Studies in Architecture with two specialities related to technician and project fields, nowadays, I have pending to finish just the final projects of two master programs more, in Building Rehabilitation and Advanced Construction in Building; and since September I started in other one in Sustainability Studies. And my grade is in Architecture.
I have an idea to be developed. I would like to study the nexus between the heat urban island Phenom and buildings understood them as energy system. The project tries to focus on how efficiency energy can be a catalyst of heat island. The proposal is to create a tool for energy design to be applied in city scale. Today when we talk about efficiency just put focus on buildings, and that's good, but this perspective just based on spatial solutions at architecture level and the objective is the human comfort; however, when we open focus to city scale the thing is more complexity because there are many layers related each other's and the vision is no only building efficiency, now we can see that we have to think our cities as energy system too.
Let me know about your perception.
Greetings,
JS
